Start Something Youth Program To Receive Portion of Proceeds From Target World Challenge 2005

More Than Three Million Youth Participating in Character Education Program

MINNEAPOLIS (Dec. 6, 2005) – A portion of the proceeds from the Target World Challenge will benefit Start Something, a free, nationwide character education program created by Target and the Tiger Woods Foundation. Since its debut in 2000, the program has enrolled more than three million youth, and Target Stores has awarded more than $1 million to Start Something scholarship winners around the country.

Start Something encourages kids ages eight to 17 to identify a specific personal desire or goal and begin taking steps toward achieving their dreams. In the process, kids also identify personal values, interests and talents needed to achieve their dream.

In describing the Start Something program to kids, Tiger Woods says, “I challenge you. I dare you. I challenge you to be a winner in whatever you choose to do, whatever you care about. I challenge you to make a difference in the world, to reach higher and farther than you ever imagined. I challenge you to Start Something.”

Teachers and youth group leaders can obtain the curriculum for use with groups by visiting http://www.tigerwoodsfoundation.org/startsomething/or by calling 1-800-316-6142. Students who complete the program can qualify for scholarships ranging from $100 to $5,000 from Target.

About the Tiger Woods Foundation
