CONCORD, N.C.
(August 18, 2008) – Reed Sorenson and the No. 41 Target Dodge battled for 200 laps in the NASCAR Sprint Cup (NSCS) event at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) Sunday afternoon. Sorenson took the checkered in 32nd place, two laps down from the race winner Carl Edwards.

Sorenson rolled off 31st for the 400-mile event. When the green flag waved, Sorenson discovered immediately the Target Dodge was lacking rear grip. The first caution flag waved on lap 19 when the No. 21 blew an engine. Sorenson entered pit road for four tires, fuel and a track bar adjustment. The changes made during the first pit stops brought little relief to Sorenson as the car grew difficult to handle with each lap.

Green-flag pit stops started on lap 60. Sorenson drove his Target Dodge onto pit road for more adjustments. After the pit stops cycled through, the 22-year-old found himself one lap behind the race leader while running in the 41st position.

Sorenson and team battled a lack of grip in the rear of the car and continued to make several adjustments throughout the race. The No. 41 Target Dodge crossed the finish line 33rd. Sorenson managed to complete 198 of the 200 laps. There were seven caution periods for 27 laps, with five drivers failing to finish the event.

Sorenson remains 30th in the championship driver standings, with a post-Michigan total of 1800 points. The No. 41 entry is also 30th in the series' owner standings with 1849 points.

Next up for the NSCS teams is Bristol Motor Speedway, where they will race under the lights at the short track Saturday, August 23. The 500-lap event is scheduled to go green at 8 p.m. ET with live coverage on ESPN beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
