Mountain biker Alex Prochazka is paving the way as a progressive and talented freerider, and he's just 16 years old. A native of Whistler, British Columbia Alex, who goes by Alex Pro, is swiftly cutting through the opposition at international slopestyle and dirt jump contests, consistently placing at the top in his divisions. Known for his individualistic style and enormous back flips, Alex is on his way to becoming the one to beat, and he's without a doubt already a fan favorite around the world.
 
The only Target sponsored athlete outside the U.S., Alex was born and raised in Whistler, B.C. where he began as a downhill rider and continues to train today in slopestyle, dirt and downhill. Thanks to his commitment to the sport and his natural talent, Alex is the youngest rider to land a double back flip in competition, unveiling the trick for the first time at the 26Trix Dirt Jump competition in Leogang, Austria.
 
And while he can charm the crowd and judges with his aptitude for big air, Alex's downhill racing is also flourishing. After winning the 15 and under Canadian National Championship in 2005 Alex went on to secure the 2006 championship in the 17 and under category with a time that would have placed him 12th in the Senior Pro competition.
 
His undeniable speed and precision continually garners top placements in slopestyle as well, landing him a 5th place overall win at the 2006 Bearclaw Invitational at just 15 years old. Alex also placed 6th at the Whistler Kokanee Slopestyle finals in August of 2007, leaving everything he had on the course to the delight of thousands at the Whistler Mountain Bike Park Air Dome.
 
With a promising future ahead, Alex continues to set the standard for young mountain bike freeriders, proving to be the one to watch in the years to come.
