As part of this commitment, $10,000 in Target GiftCards will be given to teachers and students at Clarkdale Elementary School in Austell, Ga. The school was evacuated after prolonged rains caused the Sweetwater Creek to overflow, nearly submerging the school and devastating homes in the surrounding area.
Leaders from local Target Stores will present the GiftCards, which will be used to purchase basic necessities for teachers and students affected by the flood, to school officials at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, at Compton Elementary School, which is located at 3450 New Macland Road in Powder Springs, Ga. (Previously, the ceremony was scheduled to take place at Austell Intermediate School, which is also located in Powder Springs, Ga.)
