About Sonia Kashuk


Sonia Kashuk realized early on in her career that makeup empowers, inspires and motivates women. Today, it continues to be her mission to share her makeup wisdom while working side-by-side with women to help them discover their true inner and outer beauty. Her passion and talent has positioned her as one of the industry’s premier makeup artists and a leading beauty educator and advisor. 
 
Kashuk’s distinct realization of a growing need among today’s women for high quality, affordable makeup led to an industry first – a partnership between an established makeup artist and a leading mass-market retailer to distribute cost-friendly, quality products.  In 1999, the Sonia Kashuk Professional Makeup collection for Target launched.   Encompassing key makeup must-haves from blush, lipstick and gloss to eye shadow and mascara, the collection was an immediate success.  Since then, it has expanded to incorporate fragrance, skin care, nail color and cosmetic accessories.  In addition, the collection’s professional quality brushes have received numerous accolades, prized for their superior quality and affordable price.
 
In the early eighties, Kashuk launched her career in New York, quickly becoming the in-demand makeup artist to the world’s most beautiful women.  She has worked with a myriad of designers and celebrities including Oscar de la Renta, Marc Jacobs, Kim Basinger, Sharon Stone and Britney Spears.  Kashuk has appeared as a makeup expert on television shows including The Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America, The Early Show, and The View, and her work is regularly featured in countless fashion and beauty magazines. 
 
In addition to her celebrity following and exclusive Target line, Kashuk consulted for Aveda from 1989 to 1997 as Creative Director of Cosmetics.  In 1997 she co-authored with Cindy Crawford Basic Face, an instructional beauty workbook.  Kashuk published her second book in 2003, Real Beauty, a collaboration with celebrities, industry specialists, and top beauty editors that includes a how-to DVD demonstrating step-by-step makeup application. Kashuk was also presented in 2003 with the prestigious Cosmetic Executive Women Achiever Award.  In 2005, Sonia Kashuk was recognized by several national publications for her innovation in beauty, including Allure, In Style, and Redbook.
 
Sonia lives in New York with her husband Daniel and two children Jonah and Sadye.
