In the scissor - sharp competition of Beverly Hills hair salons, the name Umberto reigns supreme. For the past decade, Umberto has developed a stellar reputation of sustained excellence for both himself and his world-famous Beverly Hills salons. Not only has Hollywood come to respect and demand his expertise, the hair industry also recognizes his innovative talents, with Revlon naming him their “National Style Director” for Fermodyl Interactives in 1988. After starting out in Syracuse, New York, Umberto opened Guido Umberto in Beverly Hills with a partner in 1977, and launched his own UMBERTO Salon in 1983. A second salon in Beverly Hills was opened soon after. In 1994, Umberto opened the U salon, a quick-service concept for the Beverly Hills market.
