Target Debuts Men's Fall 2008 Collection

MINNEAPOLIS (July 2008) – Whether his look skews timeless and tailored or on-trend and up-to-the-minute, stylish men everywhere will find fall’s key silhouettes and essentials for an exceptional value at Target. The Target men’s fall collection – including Keanan Duffty for Target™, Mossimo®, Merona®, Cherokee®, Utility® and C9 by Champion™ – offers updated suiting for the workplace as well as casual basics and staple layering pieces ideal for everyday wear.

The fashion forecast in men’s suiting this fall includes strong tailoring and sophisticated silhouettes. Pinstripes make a comeback and pair well with contrast-collar button-downs for the boardroom, while rich wool fabrics in charcoal color ways offer a classic option for colder temperatures. Premium suiting separates in slim and classic fits allow men to mix-and-match the latest styles and find the perfect suit. The Keanan Duffty for Target™ collection offers pinstripe vests and button-downs with skinny ties that add the right amount of punk rock edge to an otherwise ordinary ensemble. Silk ties with preppy prints such as collegiate crests and bold stripes add unexpected bursts of color. Hats and scarves in cashmere and wool blends offer additional warmth and create a style statement for the morning commute.

For fall, Target offers an assortment of tees, polos and thermal Henleys in lighter fabrics that are ideal for layering and offer limitless alternatives for the style-setting man. Shirts and jackets are updated with epaulets, with the Merona Calvary Military shirt offering a sure-fire way to make a statement. For more elegant affairs, men can mix glen plaid suiting separates with a variety of oxfords in classic blues and pastel purples. For a guys’ night out, men can choose from buffalo plaid shirt jackets and hoodies in exploding prints and pair them with vintage rinse Mossimo jeans or Merona 5-pocket corduroy pants.

Mossimo polos in bright turquoise, orange and pink brighten monochromatic winter wardrobes, adding a touch of welcomed contrast under argyle-print Merona sweaters in gray, navy or plum. For relaxing weekends, signature Mossimo denim pieces pair well with plaid flannel shirts and jackets, while fleece pullovers and terry dorm pants are perfect for cozier nights by the campfire.

Men can exercise their eye for style at the gym in the latest styles from the C9 by Champion collection, renowned for technologically advanced performance apparel. For fall, the collection offers updated fabrics such as bonded fleece and poly-waffle blends that combine comfort and warmth and ensure men stay dry. From short-sleeve core training tees to tech fleece hoodies, C9 provides the basics that make the chilly morning run manageable.

Accessories complement both preppy and rocker personalities, from an oversized houndstooth print backpack and conservative ties to chain wallets and edgy belt buckles. A distressed leather belt in brown can be dressed up or down, and plaid cashmere scarves are a season staple that instantly updates any outfit. Studded wallets, leather cuffs and knit skinny ties create an urban look for the fashion-focused man.

The Target men’s fall 2008 collection will be available at select Target stores nationwide and at Target.com.
