Target Introduces New Convenience with Single Serve Wine Packaging


Innovators in design launch Wine Cube 4-Pack  
 
MINNEAPOLIS (July 2006) – Target introduces the Wine Cube 4-Pack—an economical and easy way to buy wine in smaller servings.  Guests who enjoy the convenient packaging of the Target Wine Cube and Mini Wine Cube now have a third option in choosing their wine—a 4-Pack of individual servings.  Beginning July 31, the 4-Packs will be available exclusively in the more than 500 Target and SuperTarget stores that sell wine.
 
Target, a leader in innovative design, collaborated with Trinchero Family Estates of Napa to select the perfect blends of wines for the Wine Cubes and 4-Packs, resulting in a uniquely packaged wine with superior taste and quality. 
 
“The Wine Cube 4-Packs offer guests the same great quality as our Wine Cubes in innovative new packaging that complements their lifestyles,” says Greg Duppler, senior vice president, Target. “The 4-Packs provide a great option when purchasing wine for those occasions when it’s not convenient to open a full bottle.” 
 
The Wine Cube 4-Packs are 1000 ml of wine separated into four 250 ml serving boxes, and sold together in a single unit.  The eco-friendly packs are constructed of durable, renewable resource materials, so they’re great for picnics or anywhere that glass containers are not suitable.  The 4-Pack breaks down into four boxes, so storage in tight spaces such as a mini-fridge is easy.  And each 250 ml box is equivalent to nearly two glasses of wine, making it the perfect wine for dinner for two, or for parties where not everyone likes the same varietal.  
 
The 4-Packs join Wine Cubes on shelves in the same core varietals: Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz. These are fruit forward, food-friendly that are designed to pair beautifully with a variety of foods.
  • Chardonnay- Full-bodied and smooth with apples, melon, citrus and a delicate floral note with hints of creamy vanilla.
  • Pinot Grigio- Packed with flavors of sweet pear and white peach. Deliciously juicy, smooth and aromatic.
  • Merlot- Scents of cocoa, sweet tea and spice, and a velvety texture for easy sipping.
  • Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz- The marriage of two popular grape varieties creates a seamless 50/50 blend.  Medium to full-bodied with dark berry richness from Shiraz and a touch of herbal elegance from Cabernet.
