In addition to her work with the media, Dr. Mitchell is Founder and President of Practicalories, Inc., and is a spokesperson, consultant and freelance writer. In 2006, she received the Distinguished Dietitian award from the Florida Dietetic Association.
A registered dietitian, licensed nutritionist and Fellow of the American Dietetic Association, Dr. Mitchell earned her Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee and taught nutrition and health science at the University of Central Florida for more than eight years.
A self-proclaimed chocoholic, her philosophy is that realistic amounts of almost any food can be part of a healthy diet.
