Summary:
The unveiling of Starr King Elementary’s redesigned library is part of the Target Volunteers school library makeovers. Twenty-three schools across the country, including Starr King Elementary, were awarded a library makeover, led by local Target Volunteers, who contributed their time and talent to the projects. In addition, the Target Property Development team provided specialized business knowledge through a variety of unique pro bono services, which included leveraging their design, construction and project management expertise to help with the significant updates to the libraries. Each school’s selection was based on its percentage of low-income children and its compelling need for library improvement. The unveilings will occur throughout the months of September and October. The volunteer initiative builds on the company’s commitment to volunteerism and education.
